Bakuchiol 99% is lipophilic. It can be evaluated in suitable cosmetic oils, esters and emulsion oil phases, but it is not directly soluble in water. A water-based serum may require an appropriate carrier, emulsification or solubilization system. Any such system must be evaluated for clarity, phase stability and assay recovery.

The reference AIHerba 99% grade is a light-yellow to amber viscous liquid. The wording “Bakuchiol oil” refers to its physical appearance and lipophilic behavior; it does not mean ordinary crude babchi seed oil or a diluted oil blend.
How should buyers verify low-psoralen Bakuchiol?
Request a batch-specific report for psoralen and isopsoralen, including the analytical method, individual results, relevant reporting limits and the agreed specification. A ≥99% Bakuchiol assay alone does not establish that every other impurity meets your requirements.
Can Bakuchiol 99% be formulated in a water-based serum?
It is not directly water-soluble. A water-based serum requires a suitably designed carrier or delivery system and validation of appearance, homogeneity, active recovery and stability.
